Parent Forum
Do you have something to say about what is needed for families with children under five on Canvey Island? If so, why not come along to the Parent’s Forum? It is the place where parents, grandparents and carers are able to influence decision-making in your local Sure Start Children's Centre.
What is a Parent’s Forum?
A Parent’s Forum is a group of parents who meet to share their opinions and ideas about issues that affect them and their families. The Canvey Community Children's Centre Parent’s Forum gives parents on Canvey Island the chance to have an input in the way that the Sure Start Children's Centre delivers its services. We encourage parents to voice their opinions on the delivery of current activities, proposed future activities and any other relevant issues that may arise.
Who is the Forum for?
The forum is for parents of children under the age of five in the Canvey Community Children's Centre area. No experience is necessary to be involved, just enthusiasm and a commitment of a monthly meeting from 1.15pm - 2.45pm.
What can I expect?
A friendly welcome! We have updates from the Children's Centre staff on what has been happening and discuss any new issues. Staff bring their ideas for groups to the forum to see what parents think. There is usually a selection of staff members available to answer any questions you may have. A crèche is available for children under five. Please book in advance if you require the crèche to enable you to attend meetings.
Why have a Parent’s Forum?
The ideas that the parent’s forum discuss help Canvey Community Children's Centre to develop activities that match the actual needs of the community. Canvey Community Children's Centre is keen to involve parents in the delivery of the project. Parents are at the core of the Canvey Community Children's Centre service and all parent’s views are welcomed and respected.
